Director

Patrick DiDomenico

In 2004, Patrick began serving with the Augustinian Volunteers in San Diego, CA. He volunteered at St. Augustine High School in the Department of Student Services, was a Physical Education teacher at St. Patrick’s School, and helped in the afternoons at Villa Nueva Housing Development with homework and other activities. Patrick also had a great coaching career with the St. Patrick girls’ softball and basketball teams, racking up an impressive 2-10 overall record.

In 2005, Patrick decided to continue his service with the Augustinian Volunteers and became apart of the pioneer volunteer group to Durban, South Africa. While there, he taught computers and English at St. Leo’s School and also spent afternoons at St. Theresa’s Home helping with homework and other activities.

From 2006 until present day, Pat has been working for the program and enjoying his time. Currently, his main responsibilities include keeping track of program finances and overseeing the International program. Traveling to visit the volunteers is a large component of Pat's position and is something he very much enjoys.

Patrick has been with the Augustinian Volunteers since graduating from The College of William and Mary with a B.A. in Economics and Government. In 2008, he married a fellow former Volunteer, Amy Phelps DiDomenico. They were the first Augustinian Volunteer couple to get married! Amy and Patrick are both Augustinian educated, Amy attending Merrimack College and now earning her Masters from Villanova University and Patrick attending Malvern Preparatory School.

Patrick has been with the Augustinian Volunteers through some wonderful times and he is excited about what the future might hold.

Associate Director

Hannah Kunberger

Hannah began her relationship with the Augustinian Volunteers in 2008 as a Volunteer in Lawrence, Massachusetts, serving as the Service Coordinator in Campus Ministry at Merrimack College in nearby North Andover. After completing her year of service in the summer of 2009, Hannah spent a brief period working in the non-profit sector before returning to work as the Assistant Director of the Augustinian Volunteers in July 2010, then Associate Director in July 2011.

Hannah graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in 2008 with a B.A. in Sociology and minors in Art History and Religious Studies.

Born and raised in Southern California, she then spent her middle and high school years in the Philadelphia area, where she returned after her volunteer experience. Hannah has enjoyed the simple pleasures of having returned to someplace more familiar, like cooking dinner with her siblings and revisiting old traditions. In her free time, however, she enjoys exploring the unfamiliar—roaming new cities, hiking new trails, viewing new art, trying new food, and reading about new ideas.

A student at heart, Hannah appreciates not only the lessons of her own service experience, but also the ways in which she continues to learn from the current volunteers. She describes becoming part of the Augustinian family as nothing short of life changing and is thankful for the opportunity to help facilitate that experience for others.

Assistant Director

Shannon Keough

Shannon is the most recent addition to the AV staff. She was a volunteer in Lawrence, MA in 2010-2011 where she served at Merrimack College as the Coordinator of Weekly Service and Volunteerism. Through Merrimack’s Campus Ministry office, she organized service opportunities in the surrounding communities as well as co-coordinated weeklong service trips. Her favorite part of her job was working with the young adults because she could relate to and learn from them.

Prior to becoming an Augustinian Volunteer, Shannon graduated with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Spanish from Cabrini College in Radnor, PA. The nerd that she is, she thought she’d miss going to classes and studying, but this new found freedom is much better. She is originally from the area and is glad to be back near her family and friends.

Shannon’s main responsibilities within the office are alumni relations and communications (follow us on Twitter, @AugustinianVols). She loves planning, details, and organization, but even more than that, she loves to listen. She is most excited to get to know the volunteers on a personal and spiritual level, and she hopes she can assist the volunteers—current, past, and prospective—in any way they need. She also can’t wait to travel and experience different cultures.
