Communities
The primary basis of the Augustinian Volunteers is to build community where they live and work. As young adults, the Volunteers live together in a house or apartment with 2-5 community members. The Volunteers are asked to share meals, pray together as a community, share chores, support one another, and in many ways, function like a family. The Volunteer communities are meant to be a support structure for the Volunteers, they are often the place where Volunteers find themselves being stretched the most and learning more about themselves and one another. Community life for Volunteers is full of fun as well as challenges; it is much more than just living together with roommates.
