Patrick Welde is a 22 year old who hails from Havertown, Pennsylvania. He was first exposed to the Augustinians as a student at Malvern Prep. After Malvern, Pat moved to California to attend Santa Clara University. He studied finance and Spanish at Santa Clara and earned All-America honors for the SCU Boxing Program. Pat will serve in the San Diego community. His position includes helping the children at Hogar Infantil La Gloria Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. He will also help out in the office with administrative tasks such as budgeting, fundraising, and contributing to the newsletter. Pat is grateful for the opportunity, and can’t wait to spend time with his community in San Diego.

How did you find your love for volunteering?
Through various volunteer programs at Santa Clara University including: a trip to El Salvador, ESL tutoring, Alzheimer center work, and 2nd grade classroom assistance.

Issue you are most passionate about
I have little experience working with people with disabilities, but this issue is close to my heart. My best friend’s little brother is an amazing kid with down-syndrome.
If you could be any food, what would you be and why?
Peanut Butter – I’d be delicious. Also, I could choose to be creamy or crunchy depending on my mood for the day.
