Paul Ostick is a 23 year old from Havertown, Pennsylvania and belongs to St. Denis Parish. Paul attended Malvern Prep from 6th through 12th grade. After high school, Paul went to Cornell University where played football and majored in American studies. Interestingly, Paul’s middle name is Augustine. He will be serving as the physical education teacher and helping out with the after school program at Holy Family School in San Diego, California. He hopes to pursue a career in teaching and coaching after his experience with the Augustinian Volunteers. One of the things Paul is excited about in San Diego is learning to surf in his spare time.

Issue you're most passionate about
The issue I am most passionate about is the problem with education in our country. I believe that we need to change and improve an outdated system and find more creative ways of teaching. This is important to me because I want to be a teacher.
If you could be any food, what would you be and why?
I would be a brussel sprout because I do not want to be eaten and I have never met a person who likes eating brussel sprouts.
Best AV Moment, thus far
Going surfing with Deacon Dick (Deac). I was in the Pacific Ocean watching the sunrise come over the cliffs with palm trees. I caught a few waves and I wiped out a few more. It was just an awesome time hanging out with Deac.
What do you like most about the new city you're living in?
The thing I love about San Diego is how active people are here. The weather is so great that people are always doing things outside like running or surfing. You almost feel guilty being inside.
